Delancey Street Engagement Session

I say it often but when I fall behind with the blog and social media it doesn’t mean I have nothing to post. It is actually the exact opposite. This year is just so busy! I wanted to be caught up on blog posts by the time wedding season hit in May but I just wasn’t able to. However, I’ll keep chugging away and getting these posts done!

I’m so excited to share Jacquelyn and Brian’s engagement session! The happy couple is tying the know this year on New Year’s Eve! So what better way to prepare for the festivities than a wintery engagement celebration? We started on Delancey Street in Philadelphia then made our way around to Addison Street for some twinkle lights. Also, I’d like to add a disclaimer that I do not encourage shooting confetti! However, these two were super prepared with trash bags, brooms, and a dustpan! And for the pieces of confetti that the broom couldn’t get, we got on our hands and knees and cleaned that street until we didn’t see a single piece of confetti leftover! And again, I don’t recommend that we clean streets in the middle of your session, but it did make for A LOT of laughter!

I’m so excited to celebrate on New Year’s Eve with you guys and I’m sure there will be lots of “verve clicket” flowing 🙂

Delaware Waterfront Engagement Session

Ok so I know this engagement session was from the summer of 2020 but I am determined to get everything blogged soon! 2020 – what a mess right? I lost all steam with my usual process of creating a blog post and sharing photos on social media but I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. What started out as a lot of rescheduled and cancellations, ended as a pretty busy year with micro-weddings, engagement sessions, and family photos. My business survived the worst year and I’m so excited to move on to 2021! Anyhow, how adorable are Kellie and Michael? We met at the Delaware River Waterfront and made our way over to Spruce Street Harbor Park. Summer evenings are not the greatest times for sessions when dealing with crowded areas, even during covid, but we made the best of it and were able to get a few great spots with minimal crowds! Kellie and Michael are getting married in May of 2022 which seems like a lifetime from now but I’m so excited to see them again for their big day!

Philly Engagement Session

Well I did mention a few weeks ago that I was determined to get caught up on all of my blog posts from 2019 so I guess now is a good time to actually do that! It’s only day 3 of our technical quarantine and I’ve had crazy ranges of emotion going from fear to excitement to depression and anxiety. Let me clarify that the excitement came from a part of me where I enjoy a challenge and looking on the bright side. I thought that home-schooling my kids and involving them in a more simple life would be awesome. Today was a little stressful as I tried to work and entertain my kids. When dinner finally hit I had a bad headache and was just completely exhausted. But then the evening got more simple and I felt better about this whole situation. Sitting down to work on this business of mine which I love so very much, is actually great therapy. I have worked so hard to get where I am and I will not let this get in the way of working hard for my couples and any future couples that book me as their photographer.

Anyhow, now that I’m off my soapbox – let’s talk about how awesome Jamie and Matson are! Oh – and we can’t forget Phoebe, their dog! We had a really great time with their Philly engagement session even though it was one of the coldest days we had all winter! We started at City Hall and then wandered around the area including the Comcast Center, Dilworth Park, and Broad Street. Jamie and Matson are getting married this fall at the Knowlton Mansion in northeast Philadelphia which is not far from my childhood home! I always loved the mansion and I’m so excited to photograph not one, but two weddings there in 2020! The future Mr. and Mrs. are super down-to-earth and a joy to be around! Also Jamie does crossfit like a fiend and is amazing, FYI. I am SO excited to photograph their wedding – even more so now that I have an unexpected slow season now 🙂

Del Frisco’s Philadelphia

Keli and Michael are seriously awesome! They were looking for a formal, fashionable engagement session. We had great locations in mind only to find that we were not allowed to work there. Del Frisco’s Philadelphia was more than gracious and allowed us to use their gorgeous restaurant space before opening to the public for the day. And what a relief because it was one of the coldest days we had this past fall! After working in Del Frisco’s for about half of the session we ventured out into the cold, pausing at the best locations just to remove coats. And special thanks to my husband Chris for tagging along as my assistant and holding said coats for us! Kely and Michael are a picture perfect couple, kind, and so easy to talk to. I am really looking forward to their wedding at the Loews Hotel this coming October!

PHILADELPHIA ENGAGEMENT SESSION

I recently met up with Kaitlyn and Rob for their engagement session in Philadelphia! We met a little while back in my studio, along with Kaitlyn’s parents and I knew working with them would be a blast. We had a great time just at our initial meeting and I enjoyed getting to know them more at their engagement session. The happy couple are planning their November wedding at the Bellevue so getting outside for some springtime sun and scenery was perfect!
