Brooklyn Engagement Session

By | Engagements | No Comments

99% of couples like to “warn me” that they’re not photogenic or they’re awkward and 100% of the time, that is not true! How cute are Emma and Matt at their Brooklyn engagement session? Photos can be super awkward and when you add in crowds of people on the Brooklyn Bridge the awkwardness increase exponentially! But Emma and Matt laughed and twirled their way through it and we made so many great photos together. After leaving the Brooklyn Bridge area we stopped for outfit change and a little stroll around Brooklyn Bridge Park, ending with a gorgeous view of the New York City skyline. I had wished for some more sun but even this cloudy day ended up being beautiful. I’m so excited to see Emma and Matt’s smiling faces and work with them again next year!

Longwood Gardens Engagement

By | Engagements | No Comments

I am so excited to finally share Patrice and Rob’s Longwood Gardens engagement session. After speaking with the future Mr. and Mrs. and planning their engagement session, they mentioned how they did not want photos in the city. I jokingly asked what it was that even attracted them to my work considering I love  working in Philadelphia! I knew Longwood Gardens would be a great option for their photos since the scenery is beautiful and there aren’t too many places that work for engagement photos in the winter. We lucked out with a gorgeous day although honestly, this winter was so mild that snow was never a real threat. I thought there session was a great start to my 2020 wedding and engagement season but we all know how that ended up, and their session instead was only one of two engagement sessions I was able to do so far this year. I am really looking forward to their August wedding at Belle Voir Manor and I’m praying that everything continues without any complications!

Long Beach Island Engagement Session

By | Engagements | No Comments

Stephanie and Kyle’s Long Beach Island engagement session was the perfect way to close out the summer! The Sunday evening drive to LBI was so enjoyable without the typical shore traffic. We started the session at Barnegat Light – Stephanie, Kyle, myself, their dog…and Stephanie’s parents! We took some hilarious photos with mom and dad that I won’t share here but I’m thinking that in the future, if more parents want to tag along to the engagement sessions, it might be awesome!

After we wrapped up at Barnegat Light we made our way to the beach in LBI to catch a gorgeous golden sunset along with a champagne toast! So there are a few things that define me as a person, one of them being how much I love the city and really don’t like nature and/or bugs. The second is that I have a major fear of balloons popping and opening champagne bottles. So when a couple brings bottles of champagne to their session and wants to pop them open in my general direction, I panic. I gave very strict rules to pop those bottles AWAY from my face and just prayed that I got the photos in focus as I cowardly made my body as small as possible so as to not get hit with multiple corks. And it all worked out perfectly.

Thank you Stephanie and Kyle for an awesome session, not hitting me with champagne corks, for running into the ocean, and for doing endless dress twirls. Also, thank you to Mr. and Mrs. S for being good sports 😉

Cape May Engagement Session

By | Engagements | No Comments

Suzanne and Michael had the most beautiful Cape May engagement session just a few weeks ago when summer seemed like it would just continue on, blissfully, forever. It was a big weekend – my 35th (ahh!) birthday, my 12th wedding anniversary, and Suzanne and Michael’s engagement photos. All of that summed up the perfect reason to spend a late summer weekend at the beach. The weather turned out to be just perfect – not too warm, not too cold, and a beautiful glowing sunset to end our session.

The happy couple got engaged just two months prior and knew they wanted a Cape May engagement session since that is where Michael proposed! They acted quickly in booking me and I’m so glad I had the availability! We had a great time wandering Washington Street then strolling through the sand after a quick outfit change. Also…slow clap for Suzanne being able to change from jeans and a top into a gorgeous dress all while inside of their car!

This session was the perfect way to end the summer season and bring on the fall craziness. I only wish that I had done more beach sessions this summer because nothing compares to those amazing sunsets and the way the saltwater makes you feel free and relaxed.

Cherry Street Pier Engagement Session

By | Engagements | No Comments

I met Allison & Eamon at their apartment in Old City to start their engagement session before heading down to Cherry Street Pier for some spontanteous photos and ice cream. Our initial walk around Old City led us through this gorgeous golden light on our way to Allison’s favorite tree. After a quick outfit change and dropping the pup off back at home, we made our way to Cherry Street Pier. This was my first time at the new venue and I immediately fell in love! Not only is the space the perfect balance of industrial design, art, and color, but the happy couple bought me ice cream, which is a win in my book! I can’t wait to see Allison and Eamon again for their September wedding at another one of my favorite locations  – the Reading Terminal Market! Until then, enjoy these warm and romantic engagement photos from their spring time session.

WASHINGTONS’ HEADQUARTERS ENGAGEMENT SESSION

By | Engagements | No Comments

Elizabeth and David are another awesome and inspirational couple that I am so excited to work with! They are tying the knot this summer at the Colonial Dames in Rittenhouse which is a quaint venue right in Rittenhouse with the most perfect garden. It is such an incredible and overlooked (in my opinion) venue in Philadelphia. Elizabeth, David, and myself headed to Valley Forge Park this past February for their engagement session. Valley Forge is where David proposed just a few months ago and since we weren’t quite sure of the exact location where he popped the question, we settled on Washington’s Headquarters for our backdrop. I love this location because of the variety but also because it is simple to find and Valley Forge can get very confusing! I loved officially meeting the happy couple for the first time and I am so excited for their summer wedding!
